Mentoring URM Science Students for the Professoriate

Are you interested in a career as a Professor?

The College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at UC Riverside is introducing a 2-year program to help provide mentoring and career development workshops to graduate students from backgrounds typically under-represented in science, and who are interested in becoming professors in higher education. Please see below to apply for this exciting program.

Divisional Dean Francey Sladek, in conjunction with the CNAS Graduate Student Affairs Center, was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from the UC Office of the President’s UC-HSI (Hispanic-Serving Institution) Program to facilitate the progress of our science graduate students toward academic careers. It consists of an integrated 2-year program of one-on-one faculty career mentoring, an evidence-based professional development summer workshop series, and membership and activities in a Hispanic-serving professional STEM organization. The first year of the program will be 2020-2021.
